3 debates not enough, Rory Reid says
Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Sandoval had declined an invitation to speak Friday along with Democrat Rory Reid before the Nevada Insurance Council in Reno on Friday so Reid did the next best thing.

When I travel around the country, everywhere I meet smart, energetic, hardworking people who truly love this country. But it is not easy to find one, who wants to run for the White House. You’ve got to have some special qualities. But I think it is not enough to just say, “I am the best qualified candidate for that job”. You’ve got to prove it. I think debates are needed not to select candidates, but to produce ones. Totally open national political debates should start now and be televised for entire country, and all citizens should participate, and produce new leaders, before it is too late. Would the major party candidates agree to participate in open debates to prove that one of them is indeed “the best qualified candidate”?

GOP debates need for agenda to pitch voters
It’s not easy crafting an agenda for the fall elections. Just ask Republicans in Congress. They set up a website to solicit ideas, only to see liberals flood it with distinctly un-Republican suggestions. When Republicans invited the public to rank proposals online, critics lampooned the effort for small-bore notions such as ending a federal program for “historic whaling partners.”
